All Saints Church provides the standard Church of England services of Thanksgiving, Baptism and Confirmation. If you have a child and would like to give thanks for them, or, you or your child would like a baptism or confirmation then please do come to church and discuss it with us.
This is a standard Church of England (Anglican/Episcopal) service for those parents who wish to thank God for the gift of their child without committing to the sacrament of baptism.
Liturgical information for this service can be found on the Thanksgiving for the Gift of a Child page on the Church of England website.
Baptism is one of the seven sacraments of the Anglican Church. It is the event which initiates the person into a commitment to the Christian faith.
Baptism comes in a few different flavours, including those for babies, young children and adults. At All Saints Church, baptism is done by Affusion (which means pouring) in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Liturgical information for this service can be found on the Baptism Information page on the Church of England website.
Confirmation is another of the seven sacraments of the Anglican Church, and requires the Christian to be baptised. Confirmation is literally a confirmation from the Christian that he or she would like to be part of the universal Christian church, and specifically part of the worldwide Anglican Communion.
Confirmation is usually done to those who are in their teens or older, and is usually a prerequisite (although not strictly) to taking the Eucharist at a Holy Communion service. Confirmation is done by a Bishop, and is a very special service.
More information for this service can be found on the Confirmation Information page on the Church of England website.
